I tend to think that the most meaningful images are the ones that cannot be explained, though, I can say that my practice in photography lie between art and documentary. Even if I want to express something about the world around me, I always remain intuitive and with a poetical intention.
My first trials with photography - before and during art school - made me explore the limits between the abstract and the real. I wanted to push the image to its boundaries. Influenced by the works of William Eggleston and Luigi Ghirri, I started to pay more attention to my direct surroundings and to express my taste for composition and abstraction within the real. I photographed mostly around the south of France and over the west coast (Series Ouest)
After finishing my art school, I spent time in a residency in Hangzhou, China, from where I could explore and make a project mostly around the Zhejiang province. There, my project was more documentary as I wanted to give an insight into the lives of the people.
I had a similar intention on my next project which took place in Mexico, though I focused more on the urban characteristics of Mexico city. I chose to photograph in black and white, to simplify my language and avoid the exoticism. (Ruinas)
Over the last few years, I developed a new project about the suburban territories around Paris. I like to try to find some beauty within what can seem at first like banal, uninteresting territories. (Autour et alentours)
I also photographed in Belgium and Netherlands around the suburban areas of Antwerp and Rotterdam among others. (Bel)
A few years after my first project there, I also started recently to work again in the west part of France, from Normandie to La Rochelle (Ouest II)
I also teach and develop video and documentary projects.

Je ne crois pas toujours nécessaire d'expliquer les images pour qu'elles soient parlantes. Néanmoins, je peux dire que ma pratique photographique se situe quelque part entre le documentaire et l'art, avec des influences à la fois picturales et cinématographiques.
Pendant mes études, j'ai développé une pratique photographique qui, sous l'influence notamment de Luigi Ghirri et de William Eggleston m'a conduit à tenter de joindre mon goût pour la composition pure, musicale, l'abstraction et mon intérêt pour le monde, l'urbanité, le banal qui nous entoure. J'ai notamment travaillé sur la Côte d'Azur et autour du littoral atlantique, en Normandie et en Bretagne. (série Ouest)
Après mes études, j'ai pu vivre un an en Asie. Lors d'une résidence en Chine, mon approche s'est faite un peu plus documentaire avec davantage de portraits car je voulais rendre compte de la vie et des sentiments des gens alors que le pays était en plein bouleversement. J'ai aussi photographié au Japon.
J'ai par la suite vécu un an au Mexique où j'ai pu développer un projet sur la ville de Mexico, essentiellement en noir et blanc cette fois-ci, me concentrant sur l'architecture, la vie quotidienne, l'urbanité chaotique, en tentant d'éviter l'exotisme, à la recherche d'une forme d'essence des choses. J'ai également développé un travail sur la côte ouest des Etats-Unis, en couleur, des scènes de vie. (Where the sun is a little brighter)
Après mon retour en France, j'ai travaillé sur le territoire de la région parisienne (série Autour et alentours) et près du littoral atlantique (Ouest II). A nouveau, j'ai retrouvé mon intérêt pour les espaces urbains périphériques, le jeu sur les formes, les couleurs, ma tentative de composer des formes esthétiques dans un environnement qui peut sembler terne et banal à première vue.
J'ai enfin travaillé en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas où j'ai aussi cherché à explorer les zones péri-urbaines et à en extraire des scènes de vie composées. (Série Bel)
Je développe en parallèle un travail de vidéaste/réalisateur.
